Question

I am a vendor that has a couple of contractual agreements with a local state government. I performed work many months ago. The government is now telling me that they do not have the money to pay for my contracts. They are awaiting an approval on a borrowing to pay the claims. Is there any action that I can take? Can I file a lien against them even though they are the owner and a local government?

Answer

More information is needed to answer this question. Nevertheless, if you entered into a binding contract with the local government you may enforce the contract in the State Supreme Court.

Mike.
