Can an employer in Texas (waffle house) make me pay for a drug test? They dont test for pre employment and it isnt a part of their general procedures. They said they had reports of employees doing drugs on the night shift and if i, and only i, though the reports were about several people, didnt pay for a drug test without compensation for my time i would be terminated.

No, your employer can't force you to pay for a drug test. You can tell him to go to hell. However, he may fire you.
