Question

The patient went into the hospital and had surgery for a bleeding ulcer, during surgery the surgeon nicked the spleen and said they had to remove it or I would bleed to death. Two weeks later he had severe pain and went back to the hospital for surgery for abcess on his stomach, while in surgery, the surgeon nicked his pancreas. HeI was in severe pain and told the pancreas was tramatized from the nicked pancreas. He was put on pain meds and no food or drink to try and heal the pancreas. All this has taken place at the same hospital.

Answer

This may be a risk of the surgery or it could be negligence. I would have to review the records to provide you with an opinion. If you are interested in having us look at the medical records please feel free to give me a call, thanks Steve
