The first car was made by Henry Ford, in Detroit, in 1908. It was lightweight, and was very cheap for Americans in economic crisis. His "Model T" was a breakthrough. Not like normal cars, it was durable, could go at a high speed for cars at that time, and mostly, was extremely fashionable for other cars. It took Ford almost 4 years of pondering of what his result would be. Four years later, Bam! The idea hit his brain. At that time, the assembly line was just making progress. He had a secret factory, and began developing his first cars. He also had a lot of different designs too. When he finally released his model, they sold REALLY fast. It had 20 horse power, and a ten gallon tank, and twenty miles per gallon policy. In less than 20 years, Ford had so many sold. Over 10 million! Back in those days, you could look down the richest area, and you could still see Model Ts'. Though it only came in black, the invention itself was a difficult blueprint. You could start it with a hand crank, and the engine started quite fast. It won races and derbies with its 0-50 miles per hour (MPH). It had leather seats, and had stronger metals on the outside than regular race cars at that time. People at that time could actually drive to work without worrying that they would crash and lose their lives. It was originally $ 825 when it first came out, but Ford lowered the price to only $ 350.
