Question

If a person was involved in an accident while driving a state vehicle but working for the state through a contractor whose insurance is responsible for the accident . A ticket was issued to the person driving the state vehicle. Now the other person's insurance is suing the driver of the state vehicle because the state, and the contractor who were employing the driver say they are not liable. The driver's insurance will not pay because he was driving a commercial vehicle on the job and not his personal.

If you are driving for a company, shouldn't they cover insurance on there drivers and vehicles that cover in case of an accident?

Answer

Not necessarily, particularly, if the driver is not a regular/permanent employee
