How much education do you need for art?

How much education do you need for art?
Art is a matter of natural talent and the creative way in which and individual views people, things, and situations of the world. Depending on how that artist wants to convey his or her art will determine whether or not they need further education. A graphic designer, for example, would benefit tremendously by going to a university that specializes in up to date technology (computers, programs, etc.). Also, knowing the business world doesn't hurt. There are many who have never attended college and are able to, by luck, fall into a job as a graphic designer. I say by luck, because technology is constantly changing and before long it will be impossible to create the images we see without knowing your "stuff". Although, you might be able to learn these programs on your own or so you might insist that you can, most companies seeking graphic designers require at least 2 years experience just starting off. Lets also not forget that many companies require a degree (most often a Bachelors). Not sure how you can avoid education by that standard. Graphic design is only one example. There are many others that require education/training. You could not go into designing buildings if you are unable to draw a straight line or be mathematicaly precise with your layout. With that said, architecture requires someone who knows their math. If you are just going to paint or draw, then why spend an unnecessary chunk of money? An extra class or two to help with enhancing your technique might not hurt. It really isn't hard to get your own website. You can do it yourself or have someone do it for you. Depending on your cash flow. There are many ways of selling your art to the world in this case. As far as education, yes, some forms of expressive art requires it. No matter what anyone tells you, It would only be by luck to fall into an excellent paying job and even if you did, they would pay you a considerable amount less than what you truly deserve if you do not have the proper amount of training and experience. Some things just cannot be obtained without an education. Hope this helps!
