York?

Answer

Re: attorney

You can try to defend yourself, but that is almost the same as giving up in most litigation.

Answer

Re: attorney

You can try some of the pro bono agency's and programs at the Bar Associations and the Law Schools.

For expample if you have a Federal case, you can ask for a lawyer off the Pro-Bono panel by contacting the Pro Se Clerk in the US DIst. Ct. Clerk's office in your district.

Some churches and associations also have Attorney's who volunteer their time. Some bar assocaitions also have a reduced fee referral panel where people pay attorney's on a sliding scale based on ability to pay.

You will find few professions equal attorney's in trying to meet the need of the communities poorest members.

GOod Luck.
