Question

I was divorced in 1993, in my divorce decree my ex agreed to give me a portion of his retirement from a previous employer and he was told to notify the court and myself when he started drawing it. He has done neither. What do I need to do to collect my share since I found out he has been drawing for two years?

Answer

Make written demand of him to come into immediate compliance with the

court's order or you will initiate action to have him found in contempt of

court via a Rule to Show Cause.

And, if he ignores your demand, then contact your former lawyer(if available)

or another one(if not)who handles Virginia domestic relations matters regarding

filing the Show Cause action against him.
