I am currretnly not represented in my felony case, which I am a defendent. My forwer attorney, was granted a withrawal from my case. In the menatime, the D.A. has issued several supoenas. Again, I have no representation. What action can I take, until I secure an attorney? And did the D.A. violate any statute regarding the fact that I am not represented at this time?
Thank you.
Answer
You need to hire another attorney quickly. If you cannot afford one, the judge will assign a public defender or conflict counsel. The state is under no obligation to wait for you to get an attorney and did not violate any statute by getting their case ready.
Good luck,
Blake & Dorsten, P.A.
Answer
The prosecutor did not violate anything by issuing subpoenas because they have to prepare this case whether you are represented or not. It is crucial that you get an attorney as soon as possible.
