Question

I am prepared for agreeing to "dissolution" instead of Divorce although I know I have been cheated. I am a housewife with no income of my own. How can I make sure that my husband discloses all his income and assets without withholding anything from me?

Answer

In Ohio, if your attorney files for discovery, he or she can obtain requested documents, answers to interrogatories, and even get the other spouse in for a deposition wherein they will have to answer questions under oath. All of these devices can be used to discovery information about finances. If the information provided turns out to be false and you discover this down the road, if you bring it to the court's attention right away, the court could set the dissolution aside or modify its terms.
