Question

A neighbor gave my car a jump. Another neighbor read her manual and told us to hook the cables up wrong. They melted a spot on her headlights. Am I responsible?

Answer

Legally, you are not responsible if you did not hook up the cables to your neighbor's battery, but an offer to pay some of the cost of buying a new headlight goes a long way as a gesture of gratitude.

Answer

If it's just the plastic lens try junkyards first. These are a high mark up item.
